Update Post - Advanced Portfolio:

In terms of my filming checklist, I've completed more than 50% of my Pre-production.  Originally I was supposed to have majority of my filming done by April 15th, however due to a family emergency and my dad passing away, I went on bereavement leave and was forced to push my filming into the beginning of May. My main talent (Chiara) also happened to be going away over the Autumn break, which also influenced the decision to push out filming.  In order to prepare myself to start filming at the beginning of term two, I've made a huge effort to complete as much of my pre-production (and a small portion of my production), as possible over the Autumn break; this will include my call sheet, adding the final touches to my storyboard, shooting scenes that don't require talent, and of course finalising costumes.     Costuming:      In terms of costumes, my talent owns majority of their outfits, however we appeared to have trouble finding a suitable white dr...

Digipak Mockup + Feedback - Advanced Portfolio / Minor Task:

“You’re Losing Me” Digipak Mockup By Katie Padfield Feedback: Chiara Willocks (Age - 16): Very artistically pleasing Good colour scheme Good homage to the original album / song cover Needs more variety of images Eden Cameron (Age - 16): Love the reference to the artists previous cover, and the numbers of the clock Like the colour scheme linking to the album Like the conotations of isolation and solitude reflecting the vibe Adin Otto (Age - 17): Feels ethereal Very aesthetically pleasing Like the lyrics on the back cover, as well as the numbers; it looks super cool :) The photos have both cool and warm tones - would feel more cohesive if they were the same palette Billie Look (Age - 16): It's very nice and pretty I like how it's very pretty but its got some darker tones Each bit of text fits perfectly with the picture!  Mischa Scown (Age - 16): The feeling it creates is 'lonely and running away' Dark and mysterious Overall love it, very pretty Maybe different le...

Feedback: Do you think there is a consistent theme/vibe throughout the music video, digipak, and social media page?  Chiara: Yes I do think there is a very consistent vibe through the music video, digipack and social media page. All of them capture the themes of the story. Charlotte: I think there is a consistent theme of sadness, and maybe pain in the music video. Throughout the other two, there is an ethereal theme and themes of quiet pain and heartache. Almost like an escaping to the woods theme. There’s a sense of  beauty and loneliness throughout. Adin: Looking at the music video, digipak, and social media page, I can definitely see a consistent theme throughout. Eden: Yes - I do think there is a consistent vibe, I like the shots from the music video in the digipak that show the different phases of the music video, and I like how the colour scheme is cohesive. Do you think that Taylor Swift would portray a similar marketing style? (In terms of the images used) Chiara:...

Throughout my course work , I’ve made sure that each of my media projects represent social groups and issues . Which is represented in the relationship between two main characters of my music video , and the symbolism s of their love . Love, as a core aspect of society, plays a huge role in my music video and in most of Taylor Swift’s other works; as she is the artist whom I drew my main inspiration and techniques from. It’s displayed as a normality,   as something that we should strive for , and ultimately desire as   human beings . The ‘flashback’ elements of my music video present this form of pure love, something that the main character of my music video; ‘Taylor ’, can be seen desiring in the more ’present’ momen ts. Symbolism, such as the wedding dress, the rose, and the red gown, can prove to display this in their own creative ways . The wedding dress symbolises the discussed desire that ‘Taylor’ has for ‘Joe ’ ; Ta y l or’s portrayed lover , and h...
